Workplace Safety and Health

At the end of this module, students will be able to explain (comprehension) the fundamentals approaches and principles of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH).

• Apply the fundamentals approaches and principles of WSH in order to conduct workplace occupational safety and health assessment
• Explain the relevant legislation pertaining to WSH to interested parties and employers
• Explain the importance of workplace health promotion and how it will benefit the employers and employees.
• Conduct a workplace occupational safety and health assessment applying what they have learnt in this module.

What You'll Learn

Workplace health is an integral part of Public Health. This module provides an overview on Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) and focus on principles of risk control and the prevention of work-related diseases and accidents at the workplace. Students are expected to evaluate and critique approaches/ programmes to promoting workplace safety and health within relevant legislation.
