Participants will be able to:
- React appropriately and communicate effectively when caring for a person with dementia who display distressed or challenging behaviour
- Learn ways to engage Persons with Early Dementia as they begin their dementia journey and to perform insight assessment
- Practise PCC through role plays and work on a challenging case as a group, through PCC assessment and intervention
What You'll Learn
This course deepens the application of Person Centred Care (PCC) principle in case assessment and intervention, through role play, scenario practice and an integrated project. Communication techniques and handling of challenging behaviours will be taught through the PCC lens.
Minimum Entry Requirement
- Degree in any discipline
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience of working with Persons with Dementia and/or their caregivers
