This module is part of the Post-Diploma Certificate (PDC) in Supply Chain Operations (Specialist Diploma in Supply Chain Management).
What You'll Learn
This module covers the principles of warehouse operations and their importance in supply chain management. These include warehouse planning and processes, selection of material handling systems, labour, and cost requirements. Through these lessons, the module equips participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively operate the warehouse and distribution operations. The students are also exposed to benchmarking tools, the latest technologies, and emerging trends in this industry.
By the end of the module, participants should be able to:
- Explain the needs and functions of modern warehouses.
- Apply the appropriate practices and technologies to improve the inbound and outbound operations in a warehouse.
- Apply the various warehouse costing methods and pricing factors to determine the price of warehouse services.
- Demonstrate the use of KPIs, compliance manual, work-study and various inventory counting methods in a warehouse.
Minimum Entry Requirement
Applicants should possess a local Diploma, ITE Technical Diploma / Technical Engineer Diploma / Work-Study Technical Diploma, or Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or Science from recognised institutions.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least five years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
