This module consists of 30 hours of training.
What You'll Learn
This module will cover the principles and practices of business functions in sport and the industry.
It will examine the development of sport from amateurism to professionalism to commercialism.
It will allow students to have a better understanding of the role of the State, governance, marketing and sponsorship, human resource management, events, media and public relations.
Wider global and regional developments will also be discussed in relation to the internationalization, impacts and future of sport.
Minimum Entry Requirement
Applicants of this course should have a relevant and recent diploma from a local polytechnic.
Applicants can be admitted if they are:
- fresh polytechnic graduates transiting into the workplace within 36 months from their polytechnic graduations or from their National Service ORD.
- Polytechnic graduates holding relevant diplomas transiting into workplace greater than 36 months and less than 5 years of graduation or ORD may also be admitted, but do not receive any sign-on bonus. Their respective employers will be eligible to receive the SSG grant to companies.
Candidates without the minimum academic qualification may be admitted based on merit on a case-by-case basis (such as relevant working experience). Such candidates may not be entitled to SSG funded WSP incentives and sponsoring employers may not be able to access WSP employer grants.
