SDE5402 Carbon Accounting and Markets

This module introduces the fundamental concepts, methodologies, and frameworks of carbon accounting, with a focus on its application to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics. It equips students with the skills to quantify and report greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in accordance with global standards such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. By integrating local and global perspectives, the module covers carbon accounting in industries like energy, transportation, and healthcare, while critically examining its role in ESG reporting.

Minimum Entry Requirement

• 1 good bachelor's degree from a recognised university for learners who are not pursuing an engineering chartership; or
• 2. For those who are pursuing the Chartership in Engineering Sustainability upon completion of the Graduate Certificate in Sustainability Principles and Practices, an engineering degree or equivalent academic programme recognised by the Professional Engineers Board Singapore (PEB); or
• 3. All other professionals with a STEM Basic Degree that meet the Chartered Engineer (CEng) qualification requirements (IES chapter) and who wish to secure the CEng accreditation.
