This course is for low wage workers (LLWs) in the side the PWM"“Waste Management (Materials Recovery) sector with the following PWM job roles:
- Senior Sorter
- Team Lead
- Supervisor
What You'll Learn
Course Learning Outcomes:
LO1. Describe waste sorting equipment functions and operating principles
LO2. Rectify equipment faults using correct techniques, procedures, tools and equipment
LO3. Maintain and setup tools and equipment for operational readiness
Minimum Entry Requirement
Desired entry requirement: Physically fit; attentive; resilient; team player; able to read and write English (at a level equivalent to WPLN Level 2); possess knowledge, skills, experience essential to and gained from published PWM job roles. Assumed attitude: Safety-oriented; desire to perform well; receptive to exposure to unpleasant sights and smells, dangerous and/or toxic substances; handling of dangerous materials; ready to assume leadership, coaching, mentoring and/or supervisory job functions.
