This course is only for the low wage workers in the PWM-Food Services Sector.
The course objectives of the Workplace Safety and Health for Food and Beverage Operations (Level 2) course for food/drink stall assistant and food services counter attendant, kitchen assistant, cook, senior cook, waiter, and waiter supervisor to acquire the required knowledge and to develop the following abilities:
LO1: Explain the importance of adhering to WSH policies
LO2: Describe their roles and responsibilities in maintaining and improving workplace safety
LO3: Assist in the conduct of compliance inspections to identify non-compliances, unsafe work conditions and practices
LO4: Communicate WSH risks and control measures to relevant stakeholders
LO5: Identify PPE and safety device required for safe operation of tools and equipment
LO6: Follow safety signs, instructions and workplace risk control measures in accordance with the organizational procedures
What You'll Learn
Workplace Safety and Health for Food and Beverage Operations (Level 2) course is to train food/drink stall assistant and food services counter attendant, kitchen assistant, cook, senior cook to adhere to WSH policy and procedures and assist in compliance inspections. Trainees will learn to identify non-compliances, unsafe work conditions and practices in accordance with HACCP. They will also know how to communicate risks and control measures to stakeholders and identify and use PPE for safe operations and to maintain a safe work environment. This course is approved under Progressive Wage Model for Food Services industry.
Minimum Entry Requirement
No formal education required. Participants should be able to converse, read and write basic English.
