Pwm-Food Services: Workplace Safety and Health for Food and Beverage Operations

This course is only for the low wage workers in the PWM-Food Services Sector.

• Comply with legislation through identifying the rules and responsibilities of the WSH Act for Food and Beverage Services.
• Ascertain PPE requirements & safety devices at the workplace in accordance with organisational procedures.
• Communicate the risks and control measures to be taken through proper interpretation and adherence of safety signs, hazard symbols and instructions.
• Appraise non-compliances, unsafe work conditions and practices through the application of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP).
• Apply Principles of Hierachy Control to handle and manage risk.

What You'll Learn

This course will teach the basics of adhering to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and procedures is crucial for maintaining a safe work environment, such as conducting compliance inspections, identifying non-compliances and unsafe conditions and communicating workplace risk control measures in accordance with the organisational procedures.

Minimum Entry Requirement

a) At least 18 years old

b) Have at least primary 6 school education

c) Be able to speak, listen and read English at a proficiency level not lower than the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification Workplace Literacy Level (WPL Level 3)
