This three-days course is to enhance the capabilities of Data Protection Officers (DPOs) in organizations. This course actually put emphasis on practical data governance and data protection knowledge and skills, and learn to utilize risk-based tools to establish a robust data protection infrastructure for their organization. Considered an intermediate course to complement "fundamentals of the Personal Data Protection Act (2020)" course. In addition, there is an optional computer-based examination that participants can take within 6 months after this course to obtain the Practitioner Certificate for Personal Protection (Singapore), co-issued by the Personal Data Protection Council (PDPC) and International Association for Privacy Professionals (IAPP)
What You'll Learn
- Opportunity to revisit PDPA and review importance updates since 2020.
- Learn and explore at an introductory level on Data Protection Management Programme (DPMP)
- Learn to preparate and provide risk assessment for DPMP, including Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA).
- Able to develop DPMP with regards to People, Policies and Process.
Minimum Entry Requirement
There are no pre-requisites for this course but it will be advantageous if you have attended "Fundamentals of the PDPA (2020)". However, it is preferable that learners have the following assumed knowledge and experience and assumed skills.
Assumed Knowledge and Experience:
Manage organization's compliance to the PDPA
Manage risks associated with collection, use, disclosure and storage of personal data
Handle queries and disputes on organisation's management of personal data
Assist the review of adherence to legislative and regulatory requirements in accordance with organisational policies
Assumed Skills:
Understand relevant organisational policies, processes, IT systems and the types of data that is captured and stored in those systems;
Have information gathering skills to gather and collate necessary information;
Be aware of compliance requirements of organisation.
WPLN Level for Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing and Numeracy is L6 or above
