This module introduces the main concepts in the provision of nursing care and services to transplant recipients and donors. It also explores the professionalism aspects of transplantation, the nurses' role and responsibilities in providing care to both the transplant recipients and donors as well as incorporating the legal and ethical considerations and a wide range of transplant-related complications and chronic allograft dysfunction.

Solid organ transplant nursing is a specialised nursing care that focused on protection, promotion and optimisation of the health and abilities of both the transplant recipients and the living donors across the life span. This care includes prevention, detection and treatment of illness and injury related to diseases treated by solid organ transplantation, and disease that may result from living donor donation in individuals, families, communities and population of all ages.
Minimum Entry Requirement
Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) registered nurses with minimum diploma in nursing and must have at least 2 years of work experience in nursing, of which at least 1 year must be in the relevant specialty field of any adult organ transplant.
