What You'll Learn
As the government accelerates its pursuit of foreign investment, the Philippines is one of the region's most dynamic economies, with substantial and sustained development and opportunities in the consumer, digital, energy, infrastructure, and water sectors. Despite domestic concerns, the Philippine economy is developing faster than expected and will outperform its Asian peers in the first quarter of 2023. According to the most recent available data from nations that have reported their GDP growth rates, the Philippines led the way with a 6.4 percent growth rate, followed by Indonesia at 5%, China at 4.5 percent, and Vietnam at 3.3 percent. The Philippines boasts a large consumer market with a sizable, English-speaking, young and middle-class audience willing to spend, as well as simplified entry requirements for foreign consumer firms looking to establish a presence in the country.
