The Southeast Asia region is experiencing unprecedented economic growth that is closely linked to the exploitation of natural biodiversity resources. However, responsible management of natural resources is crucial to sustainable long-term development, given the severity of climate change and the increasingly difficult challenge of discovering climate change solutions.
The Master of Science in Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainability (MBCS) (previously known as Master of Science in Biodiversity Conservation and Nature-based Climate Solutions) programme is designed for graduates with a Bachelor's degree who would like to learn more about and/or enhance their knowledge in biodiversity, and will equip students with key skills related to conservation efforts, environmental sustainability and climate change solutions.
What You'll Learn
The MSc in Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainability is a 40 units programme. The programme can be completed full-time over one year (two semesters + special semesters) or part-time over two years (four semesters) with a maximum candidature of two years for full-time students and four years for part-time students.
Students need to complete courses comprising two essential core courses (8 units) and elective courses amounting up to 20 units, and either one research project or internship course (12 units).
