By the end of the course, participants will be able to :
(i) understand the key international copyright treaties and their role in shaping global intellectual property standards;
(ii) analyze and discuss the legal and policy foundations of important copyright topics, including moral rights and performers' rights;
(iii) understand the scope and application of exceptions and limitations within copyright law and how these affect the balance of rights between creators and users; and
(iv) identify and evaluate conflicts of law that arise in international copyright cases, with a focus on cross-border enforcement and jurisdictional challenges.
What You'll Learn
The objective of this course is to enable students specializing in Intellectual Property Law to be conversant with the operation of the major international copyright treaties, and the legal and policy issues underlying topics such as the following: moral rights; performers' rights; exceptions and limitations; and conflicts of law.
Minimum Entry Requirement
A good Bachelor's or Juris Doctor degree in Law
