The GC CMH programm aims to provide higher education in mental health for the growing and evolving post-graduate learning needs of mental health professionals and practitioners in Singapore and the region. The programme is designed to provide an opportunity for clinically trained individuals, who wish to gain advanced clinical knowledge in neuroscience and mental health conditions (across the age continuum from children, adolescents, adults and elderly).
This graduate certificate programme is also ideal for students who are keen to embark on a career as a mental health service practitioner, or mid-career professionals seeking to make a career switch to the healthcare industry and gain relevant knowledge in the area of mental health.
What You'll Learn
The GC CMH is a 1-year full time graduate certificate programme made up of 4 academic modules (a total of 12 modular credits). The modules will be delivered by a multi-interdisciplinary faculty, both from within NUS and NUHS, as well as expert practitioners in private practice and social service agencies.
The GC CMH is part of the stackable model of the MCMHP. Students can transfer credits from the following graduate certificates and executive certificate (GC CMH, GC P, EC PMH) within 5 years. Upon successful completion of the three certificates, students have the option to supplement their studies with remaining modules if they wish to pursue a Master's degree in the MCMHP. The flexible nature of stackable certificates permits students to spread their coursework over a maximum period of five years to fulfil all necessary module requirements.
Minimum Entry Requirement
Hold a relevant Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least an Honours or its equivalent (High grade Pass degree) in Psychology, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Allied Health, Social Work.*
A good pass degree will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
