The Department of History aspires to advance several objectives. First, and most broadly, the department seeks to promote the appropriate use of history in the arts, business, government, and other sectors of society. The second and equally important objective is to make available a program that Singaporeans (and non-Singaporeans) can sign up for to cultivate their own lifelong learning processes. Lastly, the Department aspires to show that graduates of the program make superior decision makers, doers, and thinkers who will thrive in any setting. Apart from people in the education and heritage industries, we think the program will benefit professionals in other sectors of the economy.
