This Competency Unit enables an individual to acquire the skills and knowledge to apply common processes in Therapy Services. This Competency Unit together with other elective units is tailored to provide the skill and knowledge outcomes required by the community and social services sector of therapy services in the field of the community and social services industry in WSQ level 1 position.
What You'll Learn
The learner will have knowledge and application skills in demonstrating first aid/ CPR skills and be able to apply them to the workplace. This includes: 1. following emergency action principles 2. demonstrating first aid for airway emergencies 3. demonstrating first aid for breathing emergencies 4. demonstrating CPR skills 5. demonstrating first aid for heart conditions and stroke 6. demonstrating techniques for controlling bleeding 7. demonstrating first aid for bone, muscle or joint injuries 8. demonstrating first aid for soft tissue injuries 9. demonstrating first aid for medical conditions 10. demonstrating first aid for head and spine injuries 11. demonstrating first aid for poisonings
