Computing systems are core to any cybersecurity infrastructure. This course provides you with an introduction to basic tools and techniques for protecting a computing system against hostile adversaries.
After taking this course, you will be able to explain the principles of access control and security models in computing systems, interpret different security mechanisms in modern operating systems (Windows, Unix), distinguish different vulnerabilities associated with computing systems, and detect various vulnerable scenarios in existing system software. In addition to standard computing frameworks, you will also be introduced to the security of modern cyber-physical systems, including industrial control systems, medical devices and IoT.
