Profile
This course is designed for educators, childcare professionals, and allied staff who already work with young children and want a structured way to strengthen children's emotional and social foundations. No prior certification is required, but a working role in a preschool, early intervention setting, or student-care environment will make the 21 hours of training immediately applicable. The programme sits within the WSQ framework and is delivered in English.
Over the three days, the training moves from theory to daily practice. You start by examining how self-awareness and self-regulation develop in early childhood, then look at the social and environmental cues that either support or stall a child's confidence. The curriculum links these concepts directly to your interactions—how you phrase questions, set boundaries, and model calm behaviour when a child is dysregulated.
A sizeable portion of the hours is hands-on. You will practise observing a child's emotional state, pinpointing triggers, and choosing an appropriate response rather than reacting on autopilot. There is also time spent on designing simple classroom routines and activities that build social awareness—turn-taking games, group problem-solving, and guided reflection—so that the skills become part of the day, not extra lessons.
Given the course reference TGS-2024046159 and a full fee of $385 (about $115 after subsidies), this is an accessible option for centres funding staff development. The fee band keeps it under $200 out-of-pocket for eligible learners, and the provider's UEN is registered with SSG, which trainers and HR teams will recognise as a mark of genuine training provision.
By the end, you will have a clear playbook for guiding a child from frustration to self-regulation, and from hesitation to confident participation. More than that, you'll be better equipped to explain your approach to parents and colleagues, turning everyday moments into deliberate teaching opportunities.
