In this course, you will learn about:
Ground handling operations and management (passengers, ramp& baggage handling services, in-flight catering)
Operation and management of modern international airports, (terminal operations, signage systems, contingency planning, airport emergency systems)
Airport airside operations (including emergency and safety procedures)
Airline operations and management (including its organisational structure and business modelling, route planning, route profitability, air transport agreements and the regulatory framework of the airline industry, airline alliances, fleet and facilities planning, and key performance indicators)
What You'll Learn
This subject introduces students with an overview and understanding of the key principles and knowledge in operating airport airside operations. It will help to provide students' knowledge such as various functions and areas of the airside in supporting strategic management and operations of airside terminal of an airport. It provides students with the understanding of the essential guidance on best practices, responsibilities and procedures and regulations for safe and efficient operation of airside environment.
Minimum Entry Requirement
'O' Levels
At least 3 'O' Level passes in the following subjects:
English Language (EL1 or EL2) Grade 1 "“ 7
Any mathematics subject Grade 1 "“ 6
Any science subject Grade 1 "“ 6
and 1 year of relevant working experience OR
Higher Nitec
GPA ≥2.0 OR
GPA ≥1.5 and 1 year of relevant working experience OR
Nitec
GPA ≥3.5 OR
GPA ≥3.0 and 1 year of relevant working experience OR
Higher Nitec in Technology/Services
GPA ≥2.0 and 1 year of relevant working experience OR
Nitec in Technology/Services
GPA ≥3.5 and 1 year of relevant working experience OR
WSQ Qualification
Relevant WSQ Qualification with 1 year of relevant working experience and WSQ Workplace Literary Statement of Attainment (SOA) (Level 6) AND Workplace Numeracy Statement of Attainment (SOA) (Level 6)
Without relevant academic qualifications
At least 2 years of relevant working experience
