The course will equip learners with the knowledge and skills to support the continued growth of environmental care in Singapore in the areas of air, water and solid waste pollution control and management, as well as the new sustainable economy, particularly in the areas of energy management and sustainability.
What You'll Learn
This subject covers the workings of common energy-intensive systems in the workplace, chiefly the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) system. Among the areas covered are configurations of different chilled water distribution systems, different types of fans used in mechanical ventilation systems, types of instruments used for measurement of parameters in air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation (ACMV) systems and how the systems can be optimized for energy efficiency.
Minimum Entry Requirement
The minimum entry requirement for Academic CET is a Polytechnic Diploma or ITE Technical Diploma/ Technical Engineer Oiploma / Work-Learn Technical Diploma in Science, Technical, Engineering, Maths (STEM) or equivalent; or a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; or a Post-Secondary Certificate with at least 5 years of relevant working experience.
