Post-Diploma Certificate in Principles and Science of Mental Health Nursing (PDC1 of Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Mental Health)) aims to prepare the learners on the following:

explore the structure and function of the central and peripheral nervous systems, pathophysiology of common psychiatric disorders and current psychopharmacology and somatic treatments. .
develop learners' skills and knowledge in history taking and physical examination by integrating assessment findings to make appropriate clinical decisions.
give learners an understanding of the development of mental health nursing knowledge and practice at the primary care level.
assess, identify and evaluate major mental health problems across the lifecycle.

Minimum Entry Requirement

Diploma in Nursing from a local Polytechnic or an equivalent qualification;
Singapore Nursing Board registration;
2 years post registration experience with a minimum of 1 year in the discipline of study.
