This course is for low wage workers (LWWs) in the PWM"“Waste Management & PWM"“Cleaning: (Waste Collection; Cleaning"“Conservancy) sectors with the following PWM job roles:
- Driver
- Senior Driver
- Captain
What You'll Learn
Course Learning Outcomes:
LO1. Provide waste and recyclables collection services: Identify current waste types, waste containers, waste bins, waste collection points in Singapore's waste management context
LO2. Respond to incidents and emergencies: Avoid/prevent abnormal work issues, abnormal equipment and tools issues, incidents, and communicate more effectively to appropriate persons on the abnormalities/incidents. Aware of the Do's and Don'ts of Environmental Public Health Act (EPHA) and adhere to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) guidelines
LO3. Handle tools and equipment: Identify, check, safely use and reinstate/maintain current waste collection tools and equipment
Minimum Entry Requirement
Pre-requisites:
- Possess a valid Singapore Class 4 driving licence in order to operate hook-lift mounted trucks
- Able to read, write, listen to English: WPLN level 2 equivalent
